Masters of the Air is a gripping American war drama miniseries streaming on Apple TV+, created by John Shiban and John Orloff. Based on Donald L. Miller's acclaimed 2007 book, "Masters of the Air: America's Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany," the series chronicles the heroic deeds of the 100th Bomb Group, a unit of Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bombers in the Eighth Air Force stationed in eastern England during World War II. Serving as a companion to "Band of Brothers" (2001) and "The Pacific" (2010), the series marks the inaugural production by Apple Studios in collaboration with Playtone and Amblin Television.
Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, filming commenced in England in 2021, albeit experiencing intermittent delays. "Masters of the Air" made its much-anticipated debut on January 26, 2024.
